We are the only Orthopaedic office in Charlottesville to offer in-house Physical Therapy services as part of our wide range of treatment options. In addition to the convenience to patients, in-house therapy allows your Therapist and Orthopaedic provider have easy and direct communication. This easy communication allows all members of your treatment team to prepare the best treatment plan and make any needed adjustments based on your progress.
Of course, your own doctor can refer you to us for Physical Therapy as well. We still remain committed to open and constant communication to meet your needs.

Matt Connor, DPT-Director of Physical Therapy
Matt Connor grew up in New Jersey and attended The College of New Jersey for Health and Exercise Science while also playing soccer for the university. Matt’s interest in sports medicine dates back to being a student athletic trainer as an undergraduate student athlete. Matt went on to obtain his Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2009 from Rutgers University. He has held various positions in outpatient orthopedic settings, now including team PT for Virginia Rowing Association. Matt still plays the occasional soccer and is enjoying time coaching his 3 children in the sport.
Cory Merva, DPT
Cory grew up in central Pennsylvania and attended Saint Francis University for both his undergrad and graduate degrees in Doctor of Physical Therapy. Cory has worked in a variety of settings including inpatient rehab consisting of treating high-level, trauma, stroke, and transplant patients. He has since settled into outpatient physical therapy where he enjoys treating a variety of orthopedic and neurological conditions. He has been certified in spinal manipulation, dry needling, blood flow restriction training, and ergonomics assessments.
Abi Johnson-Physical Therapy Tech
Abi obtained her bachelor’s degree in Biology with a minor in Business Administration from High Point University in North Carolina. Abi recently moved to the Charlottesville area and has enjoyed learning all the town has to offer! In her free time, Abi loves to cook, play volleyball, go on hikes as well as bowl with her family. In the future, Abi plans to continue a career in the Health Science field and attend Physician Assistant school.
