At Charlottesville Orthopaedic Center, we’re committed to making your experience with us as smooth and convenient as possible. Whether you’re scheduling your first appointment or returning for ongoing care, we want you to feel informed and prepared every step of the way.
What to Do Before Your Visit
We make it easy for you to manage your care. Through your patient account, you can schedule appointments, pay your bill, and coordinate insurance details, all in one place. Below, you’ll find everything you need to know before your visit.
Insurance
Please bring the following to your appointment:
- Your current insurance card
- A referral from your primary care provider, if your plan requires one
If you are uninsured or self-paying, contact our office before your visit to set up payment arrangements.
Payment
- Copayments are due at the time of registration.
Worker’s Compensation
If your visit is related to a workers’ compensation claim, please bring:
- Your employer’s name and phone number.
- The name, address, and phone number of your Workers’ Compensation Insurance Company.
- Your claim number and the case manager’s name.
- A written authorization from Workers’ Compensation indicating that we are approved to provide your care.
Children
Patients under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent. If a temporary guardian is attending, they must have written authorization from the parent or legal guardian.
Imaging
If you have had X-rays or an MRI outside of the UVA or Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital systems, please bring both the films and the radiology report to your initial visit.
