Dr. Matthew Connor is a dedicated physical therapist with over 15 years of experience in outpatient care, specializing in a wide range of musculoskeletal conditions. He currently serves as the Director of Rehabilitation at Charlottesville Orthopaedic Center, where he provides expert care to patients while leading the rehabilitation team. Matthew’s mission is to serve his community by offering the highest standard of care and to be a leader within his profession.
Matthew earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy from Rutgers University (formerly UMDNJ) and his Bachelor of Science in Health and Exercise Science from The College of New Jersey. Over the course of his career, he has gained invaluable experience in multiple clinical settings.
In addition to his clinical practice, Matthew is the Team Physical Therapist for the Virginia Rowing Association, providing care for athletes of all levels. He is certified in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy (MDT) and LSVT Big, which complement his expertise in manual therapy and rehabilitation techniques.
Matthew is committed to lifelong learning, frequently pursuing continuing education to stay at the forefront of physical therapy practices. Some of his recent courses include topics like ACL rehabilitation, manual therapy, and working with master athletes. His goal is always to deliver the best possible outcomes for his patients through evidence-based treatments and individualized care.
